About WED

Mission

World Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is a 24 hour world-wide celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation, taking place for the third time on April 15th, 2011. WED was recognized by 35+ countries and an estimated 50,000+ people in its second year. Through both local and global campaigns, events, and programs, World Entrepreneurship Day aims to remind the world that it is entrepreneurs who have consistently led sluggish economies back to prosperity and growth through innovation and job creation.

Model

Individuals, high schools, universities, corporations and organizations around the world celebrate WED by organizing events or programs to advance their local entrepreneurial ecosystems. Our Downloads Page has ideas for how YOU can celebrate, but the sky is the limit – we encourage you to create your own ideas for events. Just make sure to share them with us.
