Companies & Organizations – Ideas to Implement in Less Than a Week

Make sure to start by registering!

Host a Brainstorming Session

Gather your employees together for a brainstorming session. Break out the whiteboard markers, energy drinks, and thinking caps. It’s time for INNOVATION! Reward the employee with the best idea for the company or org.

Host a Lunch2.0

What started as four buddies who simply wanted to “see inside” entrepreneurial companies has now become a tradition around the world. Host a Lunch 2.0 – it’s simple! 1) Invite your entrepreneurial community or customers. 2) Serve up some chow. 3) Talk entrepreneurship, technology, innovation, etc. 4) You’ve just caused a pretty unique “buzz” around your company!

Host an Eship Workshop for the Jobless

2.6 million jobs were lost in 2008, the highest since 1945 (1.9 million of which were in the last four months of the year.) The unemployment rate is expected to continue soaring. YOU can help those who have been laid off. Use your entrepreneurial knowledge, experience, resources, network, and passion to help people employ themselves. Youth Business Cameroon in Africa and Boise State in Idaho are both leveraging this idea. Congratulations to these entrepreneurial heroes!!

Watch our Video Program

While this “program” was designed for the college classroom because, well college students love when their teachers play videos, these presentations will change anyone’s life – 18yrs old or 118yrs old. Some featured videos are David Rose on the “Pitch” and Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who says, “2009 is a year of opportunity.”

Speak to a Kindergarten Class on Eship

This is by far our favorite idea for companies. Ready? OK, so donate a couple of your employees to go speak to kindegarten classes or the like about the importance of thinking innovatively. You can even engage them with this workshop, created by Stanford’s Tina Seelig, author of “What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20“. (see video below)

Intrapreneurship Workshop

Engaging and empowering your employees to be intrapreneurs that advance organizational innovation has become the only way to grow companies today. For this, we encourage you to organize a brief intrapreneurship workshop, in which you will 1) Define it. 2) Talk about how this is or is not already a part of your company and 3) Brainstorm with your employees how you can integrate intrapreneurship into your company culture. See these excellent and brief articles for more information: Unleash Your Inner Intrapreneur (we LOVE the picture), How They Did It: 7 Intrapreneur Success Stories, Leveraging Your Organization’s Talent and MORE.

Host a WED PartyAfter all, WED is on a Friday! Gather your employees together for an entrepreneurial celebration and announce to them the importance of this day for entrepreneurs around the world. From the NGO worker in Tanzania hosting an entrepreneurship conference for her unemployed peers to the ambitious man in Pakistan organizing sensitization sessions on “social entrepreneurship” for Pakistan’s youth, in the hopes that they will bring our world to a brighter place, World Entrepreneurship Day is absolutely worth sharing and talking about! So party it up! :)
